Hey, thank you!!! I received a word from someone who told me I had an open heaven right now and I needed to get a recorder for all that God was pouring into me about my business. It definitely bore witness with my spirit because sometimes I feel my head is swimming I have so many creative ideas swimming around in my head! Sounds wonderful right? Well it is, but here are the obstacles and I would love to know I’m being prayed for in these areas:
1) Finances. Creative ways to get done what I need to get done on a restricted budget.
2) Time. Working in Corporate America full time and trying to expand a side business requires creative ways to get things done while taking care of myself at the same time. I’ve put a date before the Lord about leaving my CA job, so I’d like confirmation on that date. HUGE and SCARY step!
3) Wisdom. Hearing His voice, taking the steps He directs me to take, and not getting off track by my own voice and thoughts.
Thanks so much for your obedience to the Lord to pray!
Say a prayer for me, Rick. I’m a graphic designer whose always wanted to do this type of work full time. A couple months ago I came up with the idea to start my own Christian greeting cards - “Birds of a Feather: Say it with Scripture”. I would love it if the Lord blessed this endeavor - and all my design work.
Thanks. God bless.
Hi Rick: I am so encouraged by your website. I grew up with your wife Jenn and are so blessed to see you both BODLY serving the Lord. Im currently a Kitchen Designer in New Hampshire and know the Lord has given me the talents I use daily to “serve” others as I assit in making their design dreams come to life. I do feel limited at times by my coworker certin work situations, but am asking for prayer for “enlarge my tent posts”. I desire to grow my client base and need creative ideas and favor with clients. Please pray that the Lord would grant that to me and as I learn to truly be a servant in my workplace.
Blessings to you and your family
Rick,
Thanks for setting this up. Working for small businesses for the last 17 years made me realize that I do have a gift, so I am trying to rebrand myself so that I can be self-employed offering services to others that are on the creative flair. I like sales, but I am not that good at it.. I am good at connecting people and creating new and unique ways of doing something in a business to cut cost and have fun. However, with the economy, even though my product is affordable, not everyone is embracing it. I also am involved with a Start-up that could very beneficial to many people including sports programs. I am going to be a rep for them, but again it is commission only. I know God wants me to be doing this, but it seems like a huge up hill that is very difficult to climb. Thanks for your prayers
@Ginny Edwards
We have got you covered Ginny, and those are very genuine concerns, well thought out.
@Doug C.
very cool Doug. Am familiar with the market. I used to have products in about 1200 Christian Stores. We even did a few greeting cards. Go ahead and share a url that demonstrates some of your work. I’d love to see and we will pray for you.
Well I am encouraged by you encouragement, Lisa! Grow your client base, creative ideas, favor with clients. We agree for the release in Jesus’ name!
@Preston O
Preston,
Do not be discouraged in this time of difficulty. Your heart, gifts and strength - as you continue to submit them to the Lord - will catch a fresh wind.
This wind will carry you to a place of refreshing. Keep moving forward. Keep releasing your gifts.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is something highly practical. Allow the Lord to build the framework for what you want to be doing. Discern His proper foundation. Build from that.
I want to encourage you to revisit the posts on ICC. Something about those the Lord is using… http://ti-mc.com/blog/kingdom-entrepreneurs-tip-1a-winning-start-up-formula-gap-analysis-meets-core-competency/ … more importantly than all of this. We have got you covered.
Hi Rick,
I’m currently a stay-at-home my with a longing to be back in the workforce. My kids are in school full time now. I have to options but neither are panning out right now. I’m fully licensed cosmetologist (NH) who would need to get at CO license. It’s a long and difficult process.
I also am a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator (teach people how to make cards and scrapbook) but that business is flailing at best. Everything that I know how to do depends on other people to make me successful and I feel like the Lord isn’t blessing either endeavor.
I need prayer for His will and guidance. And, if I’m not supposed to work that He’d make me ok with that.
Thanks for the prayers, Jennifer
@Jennifer Paddock
We got you covered Jennifer! Rick
Rick, thank you. Here is the logo I came up with for the Christian greeting card line: http://bit.ly/g7NJZ
I do not have any of the card illustrations done at this time. I need to get to work on those - trip to the store for some paper and pencils is in order.
I was thinking of finding a place online that would market the cards - print them, ship them, etc. Someplace like RedBubble.com, but I’m still not sure about that yet.
Waiting on some direction from the Lord.
