How Belief Becomes Experience - Adding Declaration to Your Meditation - Part 3 - Bringing Timeless Truth Into Your Present Reality
Main Post of the Week #1 (Week of Mar 23-29)
Welcome back! Yes we continue praying for each of you.
I hope your expectation level is rising as you return here. If you are a first time guest, welcome also. Let’s get right to it today.
Your Repertoire Keeps Growing and is Increasingly Alive in You, Right?
We have talked about meditating on the Word to the degree that you have a repertoire built up in your spirit that’s beyond memorized; it’s part of you.
Do you have a growing repertoire yet? It doesn’t matter whether it’s big or small at this point, but that it’s DEEP. Why this is important to mention again is that this is part of the key to effective declaration. You can’t jump into declaration without an arsenal that’s been cultivated. Part of effective declaration comes from your personally embraced truth from God’s Word, not just words on the page.
Yes the Word is always true whether or not you experience it personally. But we are setting out to experience it more fully, not just talk about it.
(Please consider reviewing the Creating Breakthrough in Your Life Through Meditation Series if you want to develop your repertoire more. Otherwise you may not experience the full benefit of this Series.)
In and Through You
Some people miss this, and it is one reason why there remains a huge disconnect between what they believe and what they experience. Let’s say it like this: For maximum effect - the Word needs to penetrate you before it penetrates through you. But let’s not leave the work in us alone. We need BOTH!!! Let the Word move you but THEN MOVE THE MOUNTAIN.
WARNING: religious-spirited people look out. Have you ever heard someone tell you that ‘it’s all about what happens in you, not what happens through you’? Sounds really spiritual, right? Someone just told me this again the other day, a solid believer.
Listen, that is a religious idea that sucks heavenly potential right out of the earth. Faith and works are connected. How selfish to simply let the Word change us on the inside and not figure out how to release the inner victory into the world around us. Don’t you remember that originally humans were given dominion here on earth, to rule THIS realm? Jesus has restored your position. You have a royal role here as part of God’s family.
Some people’s idea is that the more spiritual they become, the less involved they become in matters on earth. So as they become more and more spiritual, they retreat more to them and God… Have you checked your Bible lately? It says:
“The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth He has given to man.” (PS 115: 16). I have just one question for you. What on earth are you doing with this divine opportunity and charge of stewardship?
You should take what is happening on the inside of you and transfer it, all the time. The more Word comes in the more you release. The more you release the more comes in. Whatever you set your hand to should prosper. The house of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tent of the upright will flourish. Your words should not be without power.
You life should be a demonstration not just a collection.
Your Declaration of Faith - Advance, Will You!
Often Christians grab one or several Scriptures and start declaring them, desperately expecting an immediate answer. Many times it doesn’t come the way they believe it should. While God’s Word never fails, He has many principles to effective use of His Word. One is meditation. Another is declaration, sometimes also called confession.
Heb 10:23: Let us hold fast the confession of our faith without wavering for He who promised is faithful.
What exactly is a confession of faith? What is your confession of faith?
The Greek word used here for confession, homologeo, means “same speak” - to speak the same thing, to confess, declare or admit, to declare openly by speeking out freely.
Bringing timeless truth into present reality involves taking what we know to be true in God’s Word and speaking it specifically and skillfully into our lives and situations with faith - declaring it.
Yes, you are becoming more skillful in the Word!
It is the difference between the person who says, “Lord I know your Word is true and does not return void” and then throws up a few general prayers - which is a start, and the person who says:
“Lord, I know that your Word is true in my life today. It’s living and active; spirit and life. I declare today that You have called me with a holy calling and that you have prepared in advance things for me to do. I am your workmanship and I hear Your voice. I believe that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death. I have been delivered from the domain of darkness and transferred into the Kingdom of Your beloved son. You power is at work within me. I’m a son, not a slave, with full rights according to Your word. You said if I call to you You would answer me and show me great and unsearchable things that I do not know, so I ask you to show me great things about the marketplace today, things about business, things about people, things about the Kingdom - things that I may lay hold of in my own life -and then relay to others for their benefit…etc” (that’s just the first thing that spontaneously came to me out of my spirit — are you getting the picture here?)
Some take a confession to be the declaring of basic elements of doctrine; which it can be. But it is much more. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth should speak, daily, specifically, and out of the truths that are becoming increasingly activated in your life through meditating on God’s Word.
Someone out there’s gotta be getting this! I hope it’s YOU.
